Super-charge your coding skills!

Hi,

I am highly enjoying my Grasshopper experience so far. First, I would like to thank you for putting together a wonderful and engaging app to teach adults how to code. I have a question: Is there a bootcamp that you can recommend outside of the US?

I live in the European Union. But I am sure that people from other parts of the world will appreciate the advice as well

No, sir/ma’am. The one that you are asking about is being used in the medical offices, like mine, it is called Billing/Coder courses. This career is completely different than what you are asking about. If you continue with the course mentioned here, you won’t go wrong. You will be making a good living with this king of programming than the biller/coder courses.
Wish you all the best! Hope this helps!

We’ve created a Practice course if you open the side menu. Puzzles get added to this course as you progress through the other courses.

Grasshopper (Grace Hopper?) is amazing!
But…I took your advice and enrolled in the Google IT Coursera cert course, and it is a nightmare. The course is not compatible with the android app (see pic of help chat)…after hours of enrolling and going through the first week of material. It’s expensive, glitchy, and the help desk can’t answer basic questions about options and choices.

Can you recommend something that works?

Hi @Grasshopper_Heather just checked the algorithms course and it is in Java. Just started learning JavaScript and I am just a beginner with the language. Do you recomend anyway the algorithm course in Java? If so were can I lear the fundamentals to follow the course? Thanks a lot in advance

Did I understand this comment of yours correctly?

Is there hidden courses after animations II?

I’m asking this question, because if the assumption is correct, it’s going to be a relief to me.

You see that I’m really enjoying these courses, and puzzles in it, but it’s the only learning application suitable for me.
I have tried many of them, as I’ve told you earlier, and it’s truly an honour to study coding with it.

And what worries me is that, I need to be practicing my skills after these courses and it’s really a time taking effort to find a replacement app

And yes, there are websites out there, but I’m doing all this learning with my smartphone and usually along the way comes a time they tell me to use a computer.
Then our ways part, because I don’t use computers.

So, thank you very much for this incredible application and I really enjoy making all this with my smartphone

From the puzzle selection menu, there is a side menu (≡ in the top left, or swipe from the left side of the screen). Under the Courses section, there is a Practice course at the bottom of the list. This is unlocked after finishing the 1st puzzle, French Flag. It expands with new lessons as you finish them in the other courses.

Hi,
I have a question. Will I be getting a certificate on the completion of all the levels of the app, from your side?

Hey there, great question!

We unfortunately don’t offer certificates for completion of Grasshopper content. However, if you’ve completed all of our puzzles and gone through the entire curriculum, you are in a good position to take a more in-depth JavaScript course from an organization that does offer certificates, such as Udemy, Coursera, or FreeCodeCamp.org.

Hope this helps!

Thank you madam! What a great honour to learn from you and your great team of tutors. Thanks to google for providing coding lessons with certification from you for no charge. I respectfully wish that you may keep this app alive with a few more courses as I have completed 4 beautifully designed certified courses now. Of course there were times when it seemed hard as I was nonplussed but now I want to go back and read the fine code again. I’m sure if I get this software on pc I can create small wonders. Bless you all.

Can u suggest any compilers to execute and run Javascript codes on my own? For example, we have turbo c++ for c++. Anything like that for Javascript?

JavaScript is interpreted at runtime, rather than compiled into a separate executable file, like c or c++.

If you want to try writing your own JavaScript code, you can write/run it right in the browser by opening the developer tools console.

If you want to try writing code in a .js file and running it from the terminal, you can use Node.js. There are loads of tutorials available online to help you get started.

Hope this helps!

Hi I’m looking for a similar app to continue. I have a little amount of time and cannot follow a course. I want to continue to training myself in code for a long time to be familiar with coding but by little day amount because of lack of time. What is the better option. Note that for me every language would be good from c to Ruby, appart of python, that I don’t like.
