Issues in guidelines and privacy

On, at the bottom of the page, there is a broken link for site feedback category.

On, in the COPPA section, it says: “Our site, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older. If this server is in the USA, and you are under the age of 13, per the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), do not use this site.”

First, if YOU don’t know where the server is, how do you expect your users to know? And if the server is cloud-based, that makes things kinda…cloudy.

Second, it should not matter where your server is, you should offer the same service. Telling people that they can’t use your service depending on where your server is implies that you’re doing something wrong.

As an alternative, consider a statement asking that users under 13 be assisted by an adult AND use an alias.
